Welcome to Erin Hicks Art

I'm Erin, 21 years old and from Cornwall, UK. I have loved Art from a young age, studying it since i was 14. My passion became most apparent when studying a Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design at Truro College, this opened up many pathways, helping me plan a career but also teaching me many new techniques and ways of working. My main passion lies within Painting - mostly abstract pieces. I love colour and application and for my work to be eye catching and unique. I decided recently to take the leap into Abstract work only, this work is a way for myself to be expressive and to use painting as a linguistic language of story telling, I am always intrigued by energies and will always strongly appreciate colours within my work - painting can hold some really emotional and personal connections and it's my way of release. Studying sensations and materiality on my previous dissertation I intend to follow through these themes into my current practice. I have just completed my  Final year at Falmouth University studying Ba (Hons) Fine Art - I am transferring my energy into teaching by starting teacher training this year, teaching 11-16 year olds art and design.
